About me
My Journey into Fitness Coaching
Fitness has always been a passion of mine. I tried many forms of exercise throughout my life and was always curious about lifting weights, although it wasn't common at the time to see women lifting heavy in the gym. So, like many women, I gravitated towards group classes and other forms of exercise.
In my late 40s, I started working with a personal trainer and quickly discovered how much I loved strength training. Within a year, I was stronger than I had ever been, and I continued to build strength well into my 50s and beyond.
At the same time, I was ready for a career change. After 30 years as a medical scientist in the pharmaceutical industry, I wanted to do something different—something I was genuinely passionate about. Through conversations with my trainer, he helped me realise that personal training could be the perfect next chapter for me.
Initially, I thought I was too old and that it was too late to start a new career. He inspired me to see my age and life experience as strengths rather than limitations. I took his advice, became a personal trainer and certified nutritionist, and have now spent over 10 years helping women of all ages become stronger, healthier and more confident.
I believe strength training is especially important as we age. It's not about aesthetics—it's about health, confidence, independence and building a stronger body for life.
My journey has taught me that it's never too late to get stronger, change direction or start something new.
Why train with me
What makes us different?
My private personal training studio offers a relaxed, supportive environment where the focus is on building strength and improving overall wellbeing. I believe in embracing challenges—whether they are long-term goals or something that arises within a single session—and working through them with patience and purpose. With careful attention to detail, I recognise that every client has their own strengths, weaknesses and individual needs. By working with these unique qualities, I help each person bring out their best and achieve their goals with confidence.

I understand the unique physiological changes that occur during this transformative time and I'm here to support your body, mind, and goals — whether you're preparing for childbirth or rebuilding your strength postpartum.
For expecting mothers (prenatal)
- 🌿 Improves posture & reduces back pain — pregnancy can shift your centre of gravity and strain your lower back; strength training helps support your spine and posture.
- 💪 Builds stamina for labour & delivery — a stronger body can lead to a smoother labour experience and quicker recovery.
- 🧠 Boosts energy & mood — exercise helps reduce stress, anxiety, and fatigue, supporting mental wellbeing.
- 🩸 Supports healthy weight gain and circulation — staying active reduces the risk of gestational diabetes and swelling.
For new mothers (postnatal)
- 🔄 Promotes faster recovery — gentle strength work helps restore core function and pelvic floor strength.
- 🧍♀️ Improves posture and reduces muscle imbalances — carrying and feeding your baby often creates tension; training corrects and prevents discomfort.
- 💥 Supports mental health & confidence — exercise releases endorphins, helps manage postnatal depression, and restores a sense of control and empowerment.
- 🤱 Boosts energy for motherhood — strength training improves functional fitness so you can meet the demands of motherhood with more ease.
